Project Summary: The District f/k/a Brazos Transit District, the public transportation provider for 20 counties in east and central Texas, initiated a major service expansion initiative in the early 1990's.

Project Highlights

The District’s program included expanding existing services and initiating new fixed-route and demand-responsive transit services in communities previously unserved by public transportation. The District retained TGC to develop a Five-Year Plan that included identifying vehicle and capital facility requirements, as well as operating subsidy needs for addressing new and expanded services. The Five-Year Plan identified available state and federal funding resources to support capital and operating costs.

Finance Strategies

TGC identified and formulated innovative finance strategies to address capital and operating funding requirements. The Five-Year Plan identified various non-traditional local share resources that could be used to match state and federal funding.
