Project Summary: In FY1992 and FY1993, The District f/k/a Brazos Transit District received approximately $20 million of federal funds to increase public transportation services in east and central Texas. These earmarked funds supported new and expanded transit services in 20 Texas counties. The District retained TGC to develop operating plans and funding plans for the new and expanded services in each of the 20 counties. Services included fixed-route, demand-responsive, park and ride, and route deviation systems.

Service Planning
TGC service planning activities included developing routes and schedules for fixed-route, park and ride, and route deviation systems. TGC developed fare structures for the various service types, and identified vehicle and manpower requirements. TGC calculated ridership estimates along with identifying capital and annual operating costs for the various services. Funding resources were identified.
