Project Summary: The City of Charlotte's downtown Center City area is overseen by the Center City Partnership - a public/private partnership between the City and private sector stakeholders. The Center City Partnership retained a team of consultants to develop a VISION 2010 Redevelopment Plan for the Center City area.
Project Highlights
The plan was a comprehensive strategy to encourage new development associated with improved public infrastructure. TGC’s role on the project team was to develop a mobility plan for the area including identifying road, transit, and pedestrian systems to serve the area in a manner that will promote new development opportunities. Investigation of corridor rail and downtown fixed-guideway systems was included in TGC’s mobility planning for Center City. TGC also developed finance and implementation strategies to attract public and private subsidies to support infrastructure development.
