Project Summary: During the feasibility study, TGC evaluated overall demand, effective management of transfers, cost-efficiencies, and re-routing. TGC managed the design process to ensure a consistent theme across all five terminals that would reinforce the common link to Sun Metro.
Project Highlights
Facilities
TGC was engaged by Sun Metro, El Paso’s transit authority, to develop a system of five terminal and park and ride facilities. TGC completed development on the Five Points and Eastside transit terminals and worked on preliminary engineering for the Far Eastside, Westside, and Mission Valley transit terminals. In the Five Points, Eastside, and Far Eastside transit terminals, a two-sided approach to the eight-bay terminal prevents the need for a larger internal turnaround and minimizes the potential of stalled buses incapacitating the entire facility.
Joint Development
A daycare will be included in the Far Eastside facility and was the product of an extensive community input process. In a continuing desire to attract more choice riders, park and ride spaces were incorporated into the Far Eastside transit terminal program.
