CIRCULATOR SYSTEM PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, AND OVERSIGHT
The Goodman Corporation (TGC) has been providing mobility and transit planning services to the City of Conroe since2008. Through this seven-year relationship, TGC has assisted Conroe in its transition from a bedroom community to an economic engine that powers the Conroe-The Woodlands Large Urbanized Area. Recent TGC successes include:
- Planning and implementation of Conroe’s first fixed-route transit service included FTA Formula Section 5307 funding for ADA complementary paratransit service. Route demand has exceeded all expectations by doubling initial ridership estimates in the first four months of operation. The implementation process for this route included route planning, identification of pedestrian-transit capital improvements, turnkey contractor procurement, and compliance and program management activities.
- Planning, grant application, and award of $5M in STP and CMAQ funding for design and reconstruction of SH 105 from IH 45 to Frazier Street, and also included $1M for construction of the first park & ride facility to be owned and operated by the City of Conroe. Implementation is currently underway through a joint partnership between the City of Conroe and TxDOT.
- Intergovernmental coordination between the City of Conroe, TxDOT and Hughes Development Corporation to develop a mutually agreed upon list of priority roadway projects for future Proposition 1 funding. The effort culminated in the preparation and submission of four joint applications to the 2015 H-GAC Call for Projects. This involved development of cross-sections, cost estimates, and quantitative benefit documentation.
